Unrivaled and Revolutionary

If you've ever read a cosmetic formulation textbook, the three essential elements in a formulation are: Emollients, humectants, and occlusives. What about water which is neither of those things and yet makes up 60-80% of all skincare products on the market? The definition of water: A vehicle for water soluble ingredients. So if water is just a vehicle why is it the #1 ingredient in almost all products we see on the shelves? Well, it's super cheap and makes for great profit margins, it allows products to be "emulsions," and it has traditionally been the only way to get polar actives like water soluble vitamins and humectants like glycerin and HA into products. What are "emulsions"? Everyone knows that oil and water don't mix so how do we get them to mix and stay that way? In order for water and oil to mix and stay mixed, they need a proper emulsifier, usually a non-ionic surfactant that when melted all together forms a bond with the oil and water phase connecting them together like glue. Think of it like making a fancy salad dressing. These emulsions allow for that ultra creamy product that we all know and love.

For decades, the only way to make these emulsions have been with oil and water. There have been multiple attempts to remove the water and just have emulsions that are glycerin and oil, but they have all been too unstable except in the form of solids like lipsticks. Why? What's the difference between glycerin and water? Glycerin is a humectant, meaning it loves water and is what actually hydrates your skin. It penetrates the skin and draws in water from the deeper layers making your skin plump with hydration. Glycerin is therefore necessary and,  as such, is in almost every water-based, retail skincare product on the market. At MITHREUM, we have cracked the code with years of research and have patented the first and only glycerin and oil emulsions stable enough to be cosmetic creams. We have successfully removed the water, to bring to life the only emulsions unrivaled on today's cosmetic market.

What about the water soluble actives? How do you get those in your products? Glycerin is polar! Anything that can be dissolved in water can also be dissolved in glycerin. They may have different solubilities (oh no, chemistry!) but it can be done. And we have done it. Our creams are non-comedogenic, using only the best organic oils, vegan, concentrated, waterless, and skin-microbiome safe. No fillers, no marketing gimmicks. Only the most effective and pure ingredient blends that will leave you amazed and with a new habit of touching your face all day long to feel it's magnificence.

Once you try our face creams, you will never want to go back to water-based. These are the creams of the future. They work. They are amazing. You will not believe the results. Find your divine with MITHREUM.
